Spring Field Ornithology is an 8-week birding course taught by Dr. Steve Kress, VP for Bird Conservation for the National Audubon Society, Cornell Lab of Ornithology staff and expert birders from the Ithaca area.

The course consists of Wednesday night lectures at the Lab of Ornithology, weekly field trips to local birding hotspots and 2 overnight trips. This year we are also offering the option to take the lectures remotely with the "Online Only" option.

The lectures introduce common birds of the eastern US through audio recordings, slides, videos, and interesting talks. Additional lecture topics cover intriguing aspects of bird behavior, migration, courtship, nesting, and gardening for birds.

Enrollment options: You can sign up for all course sections (recommended for first-time students) or individual course sections (lectures, weekly field trips and each of the overnight trips). For the weekly field trip section, students sign up for Saturday or Sunday trips.
