Winter Bird Highlights
, a summary from the season, mailed in the fall
Living Bird News
, a quarterly newsletter with the latest news and discoveries from the Cornell Lab
Extended Information:
New project participants
receive the Common Feeder Birds poster filled with illustrations of the most common feeder birds in their winter plumage, birds from the East on one side and birds from the West on the other side. New participants also receive the
FeederWatch Handbook & Instructions
booklet with bird feeding information and complete project instructions.
All participants
receive Project FeederWatch’s Bird-Watching Days calendar for keeping track of count days and receive a tally sheet to record bird counts and other data.
The FeederWatch season
runs from the second Saturday in
November through early April.
Registrations for the winter season are accepted all year long, but
kits are mailed in the fall and throughout the season
as sign-ups are processed. During the FeederWatch season, it takes about
three weeks to activate ID numbers
(for new or renewing participants) and to send kits to registered participants.
Give FeederWatch
to a friend or relative. All kits must be shipped directly to the recipient in order for our system to assign the gift recipient their own ID number. Just fill in the
gift recipient’s name and address in the “ship to” section
of the check-out page. If you order during the FeederWatch season, we will include a postcard in their kit telling them the kit is from you. If you order in the off-season, we will mail your gift recipient a postcard to notify them that you have signed them up and that a kit will be coming in the fall.
Please note:
To assure that your order is processed properly,
please only order one kit per transaction.
If you would like to order kits for additional people and want to avoid multiple transactions, please call us toll free at 866-989-2473 and order over the phone.
