Learn about bird behavior, migration, ecology, conservation, and many other subjects—in your own home, at your own pace! This fun course was written at an introductory college level and includes all basic ornithology topics. It is suitable, however, for anyone with an inquiring mind and a serious interest in birds.

Enrollees will receive exam questions for each chapter, complete instructor support, and answers to your specific questions about material covered by the course.

The course requires the Handbook of Bird Biology, 2nd edition, which unfortunately is out of print. If you don’t already have a copy, you might be able to borrow one from a library, friend, or nature center, or find a used one online or in a used book store. Once you have a Handbook you should sign up for the course, below.
